To Our Valued Madre Labs® Customers,
We are writing this letter to address the issue of the Japan-based raw materials contained in our Midori Greens® and Immune Punch® products. The Organic Matcha Green Tea, Organic Ashitaba and Wasabi contained in Midori Greens®, as well as the Active Hexose Correlated Compound (AHCC) in Immune Punch®, were not impacted by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011.
Our Organic Matcha Green Tea is actually the only raw material of the three that is cultivated entirely in Japan. Our tea supplier has provided us with a statement and lab assays confirming that there have been no unusual levels of radiation detected in their growing region. This region is located 500+ kilometers from the Fukushima power plant.
The Japanese supplier of our Ashitaba cultivates this raw material in Indonesia, 3,500 miles away, and then processes it into a powder in Japan. The supplier has confirmed that their processing facility is 1,000+ ilometers from the power plant and the material has not been affected by the radiation.
Our Wasabi raw material is cultivated and processed 100% in New Zealand.
The production facility for AHCC is located in the city of Sapporo on Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. Sapporo is located more than 350 miles from the disaster area, and since it’s on a different island, it has its own port and airport. So, no infrastructure-related disruptions have taken place.
The mushroom mycelia roots, from which AHCC is made, are cultivated indoors in tanks located at the AHCC production plant. The process does not require the collection of mushrooms from the outdoors, as may be the case with some regular mushroom extracts.
Each of our manufacturers is continually monitoring radiation levels, and will notify us if there are any changes. You can rest assured that we have not and will not produce any products using radiation-exposed raw materials.
Also, we are very relieved to know that our vendors' families, loved ones and friends are safe at this time.
In Good Health,
Team Madre Labs
