Shiitake, Maitake, Reishi, Royal Agaricus, Turkey Tail and Chaga are considered to be the most immune-active of all mushrooms, and have been studied extensively by research scientists around the world.

- Shiitake - also known by the Latin name Lentinula Edodes and known in China as Shang Gu or Qua Gu, is a well known and widely studied mushroom. It is the raw material source of the third most widely used naturally-derived injectable alternative treatment in the world, Lentinan. In fact, more than a dozen different compounds from Shiitake have been found to support immune function & healthy cholesterol levels and have other beneficial effects.*
- Grifola frondosa - commonly known as Maitake (Dancing Mushroom in Japanese), is a mushroom used commonly in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) as an immune enhancer.* It has been extensively researched for its active component, called the “D-Fraction”.
- Ganoderma lucidum (Red Reishi) - is probably the most well known tonic mushroom in the world. Known in China by the name Ling Zhi, it is revered throughout East Asia as the “Mushroom of Longevity”.
- Agaricus blazei (Himematsutake) – also known as Royal Sun Agaricus and one of the most amazing mushrooms recently discovered, it is primarily used as an Immuno-Supportive ingredient. Several active ingredients have been identified in Agaricus blazei, including: Beta-(1-3)-D-glucan, Beta-(1-4)-a-D-glucan & Beta-(1-6)-D-glucan. Known collectively as Beta-glucans, these are among the most beneficial immuno-supportive compounds yet found.* It is thought that Beta-glucans do not directly cause this effect, but rather help activate the body’s own inherent immune response.* Research indicates that there is a quantifiable increase in NK (Natural Killer) Cells when Agaricus is added to the daily diet.*
